Vague or missing KPIs
"Improving brand awareness" means nothing to an ATS. It looks for: "+35% organic traffic", "CPL reduced by 22%", "Campaign ROI: 4.2×". Metrics trigger matching.
Tools not explicitly named
"Proficient in analytics tools" is invisible to an ATS. Name them: Google Analytics 4, HubSpot, Semrush, Meta Ads Manager, Salesforce, Klaviyo — each tool is a filtering keyword.
Infographics and visual elements
Creative marketing CVs (Canva, Adobe) are often rich in visuals. An ATS cannot read images. Your expertise disappears if it is not in plain text.
Channels not specified
"Social media management" identifies no channel. Be specific: "LinkedIn Ads (B2B)", "Instagram / TikTok (B2C)", "Google Ads / Search". ATS systems filter by channel and managed budget.
